Resumen

Following a widespread and intensive research of the interwar Jewish modern educational system in central and east central Europe, my main argument is that the massive trend toward complete emancipation among local young Jews could not take place without the involvement of the emerging popular Jewish education system, and mainly the educational networks operated in this region. In this presentation, I will discuss, as a test case, the unique case of Lithuania. By analyzing the raison d'etre, the ideological worldview and the curricula of the modern Jewish educational network in interwar Lithuania, I will portray the impact of the local educational system and the rapid process of emancipation.
